During the month of October, Panera Bread bakery-cafes throughout the country will offer a specially created Pink Ribbon Bagel in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Panera will donate a portion of the proceeds from each Pink Ribbon Bagel sold to a variety of breast cancer causes, including the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization.

In 2001, Panera Bread franchisee and breast cancer survivor Sue Stees, developed the Pink Ribbon Bagel as a way to help support the cause to eradicate breast cancer disease.
